Revis & Sherman Engage In Twitter War Over Who Is Best CB

Who do you think is the better corner?
Richard Sherman believes he is the best cornerback in the NFL, even though he's only played for 2 seasons. Sherman took to Twitter Wednesday and claimed Revis's stats didn't compare to his, even though Revis has played four extra seasons. Revis, who was hurt most of the season with a torn ACL, was having a solid season up until the injury. So why the sudden trash talk from a non conference player?

Simple, it makes for good entertainment. As sports fans, we love this, it gives us something to debate about. Sherman, who will not be regarded as the best until he proves he can maintain his success for more than one year, is not completely wrong. Sherman's numbers over the past two years are to say the least, impressive. But his claim that Revis's total interceptions make him a lesser corner are quite flawed. Opponents don't throw at Revis, he takes away one half of the field. He covers the best receiver each and every game and shuts them down. Sherman's plays on a better defensive team and a better secondary unit. The focus is not solely on him.

I wont talk too much trash on Sherman because he is talented. But taking a shot at a fellow player, who is widely considered the best corner in the league, because he's injured is a low blow. Sherman needs to realize that he will now be focused on by every offensive coordinator in the league. Forget Revis, he plays defense. He has no way of actually playing against Sherman, so it's pointless to make a rivalry out of it. It just goes to show you how competitive professional sports are. A year ago no one would have dared said anything of this manner, but get injured and then see what people start saying.

Revis Island all day people, Sherman will never be in his class. Keep Tweeting chump.
