Tiger Woods Wins Farmers Insurance Open. (-14 under)

Tiger Woods Needs a Few Majors to Silence all the Critics this Year

Give Tiger Woods some credit, the guy has been through a ton of bullshit since 2009. Granted he brought just about all of it on himself when he decided that banging everyone from his neighbor, to the stage 5 clinger, to the broad that worked at sizzler was a great idea. And hell, it probably was at the time. But over 3 years removed from that entire ordeal, Tiger is starting to look like, well, "Tiger". The guy who could be 8 strokes back going into Sunday and you knew somehow the dude would be in the running to win the entire tournament by the time he laid eyes on the back 9. He was so feared, so revered, and just so good that no one ever counted him out. But after three years of scandals, loss of sponsorship's, lack luster performances  and a failure to seal the deal in the clutch. He has become this folk figure, but not in the manner in which we had once thought or even he himself had pictured it too. (Lets be honest, you don't win as much as Tiger & not think pretty highly of yourself. Occupational hazard)

Iv always been of the opinion that what you do behind closed doors in the privacy of your home or where ever you are, is your business and no one else' s  As long as no criminal acts have been committed, its all fair game. But with Tiger it's different. Why Though? It's simple actually, the guy wasn't just held to a higher standard. HE WAS THE STANDARD. Think about it,you have an African American male playing a historically white man's game and absolutely dominating it. Chasing the ghost of Jack Nicholas and making it look easier than carrying on 36 month long affairs. It wasn't just the reputation he built on the course, he built a brand name of excellence and good morals off it. The half Black & Asian man, who had a white wife and young children. The picture perfect marriage, no criminal record, no run-ins with the law. No breaking news on ESPN about him throwing around 100k in singles at the strip club. He was the perfect athlete, perfect man, and most of all perfect sponsorship candidate.

Everyone bought in, everyone. There wasn't one major corporate sponsor that didn't want a piece of Tiger. He was worth more than gold, he was priceless. And Tiger knew it, he figured no one could ever touch him. I don't blame him, after all we put him on the pedestal, can't get upset over him wanting to stay up there. Granted, he went too far. Cheating on your wife isn't the correct way to go about it. But 90% of people in his position would have done the same thing, so let's all get off our high horses.  Let's focus more on what we love about tiger, what we want to see. Even his biggest critics, want to see him back on top of game. Why? Easy, there's nothing like watching Tiger Woods play golf and compete against guys who aren't worthy of kissing his feet. Tiger at his best is euphoric, hes the Jordan of golf. He is golf, golf would be dead without him.

Nike Golf owes Tiger everything, he created it. Rory McIlroy also owes Tiger, he doesn't get a 200 million dollar deal without Tigers accomplishments. So I am asking, no I am BEGGING everyone. Leave the man alone and let him play golf. He deserves to beat Jack's record, but most of all we deserve to see one of the greatest athletes of our time compete at the highest level.

The Revis Debate: Trade Him or Keep Him?

Is Trading away Revis the key to the future success of the Jets? Some say, yes.

As a brutal cold front passed through the tri-state area this week, it left most of us feeling down right miserable. Between the weather, politics, and the media's non-stop coverage of the bizarre Manti Te'o  saga. I think it was safe to say, we had enough for one week. But of course there was one piece missing from the headlines. The New York Jets, they just couldn't resist throwing their hat in the ring for a little publicity. Was the news that they had gotten rid of their awful Quarterbacks or even worse, joke of an Owner? Nope. They just wanted to stir the pot a bit by coming out and stating there considering trading their best player away, Darrelle Revis.

Yes, you read that right. I know we all watch ESPN so there was no chance you missed the coverage. Unless of course your Woody Johnson, because he apparently doesn't have a clue as to how to run a franchise or who to do it for him. But ill touch on Mr.Johnson & Johnson later. I want to focus my attention on weighing the positives and negatives of trading away Revis Island. I guess as a Jets Fan, somewhere in the back of my head I knew this day would come.  The day were the Jets were literally so pathetic that we needed to trade away our only superstar to rebuild. But this soon? After two back to back AFC Championship appearances that resulted in me destroying two college house bed rooms. I thought we would wait at least another 4 or 5 years. But here we are two years removed from those games, two years of missed opportunity and pathetic play, resulting in no post season for Mr. Guarantee & CO.

Now we have two Quarterbacks who are more useless than those lost females who think Prince charming is out there waiting for them. (I'm sure the Channing Tatum look alike you've been creaming over, is just dying to watch you stuff your face full of mozzarella sticks & pizza at 230 in the morning.) Our so called running game, "Ground & Pound" is about as real as Mante's girlfriend. Only thing getting grounded and pounded was Rex's huge ego. Our O-line had more holes in it than the levies in New Orleans, & our defense couldn't stop the cast members from the Little Giants. So this brings us back to Revis; what could we possibly get for without a doubt the best corner in the league, in the prime of his career, who also happens to be coming off of ACL reconstructive surgery.

I think its safe to assume that NO ONE, including Darrelle will recover from an ACL injury in the same or similar fashion that Adrian Peterson did. (BTW hes the MVP, no one is even close) With that being said, trading Revis will give the Jets an opportunity at two or three legitimate draft picks, salary cap relief, and no bad press from a potential holdout because they were too cheap to pay the man. Unbelievable, only the fucking Jets could have such a unique, dysfunctional, and tumultuously situation such as this one. If they don't trade him, they run the risk of getting nothing in return for him. He could play out the one year remaining on his contract and then head to play for a contender (Dare I say the Patriots or Giants) or whoever is willing to pay him top dollar.

The most interesting part of this entire story that no one is talking about; that Woody Johnson and his cast of crownies are still more concerned with how they can put a sub-standard product on the field next year and fill the seats. Even after a year, where it was never so clear, that Johnson only cares about the business side of the sport and nothing more. He still is attempting to sell the fan base on a team that cant compete, that cant score a fucking TD from the 1 yard line. C'mon MAN!!!

As Mike Singletary said, "Cannot play with them, cannot win with them, cannot coach them. Can't do it. I want winners. I want people that want to win."

Me too Mike, Me too.

So lets say Revis does get traded and the Jets in return get a 2nd & 4th round pick. Do those picks get us the foundation we are looking for? Would these guys even be legitimate players for us or will they be another Vernon Golston? The Jets clearly have management issues, and it always starts at the top. Knowing the Jets, there's not a chance in hell that trading Revis will work out in their benefit. You never get equal return when trading a superstar. NEVER. The Jets have entirely too many holes to fill to even be considering trading Revis. I admit I wasn't surprised to hear this come out, I had considered it myself. But there is just too much wrong with this team to even consider trading him away. The defense is our bread and butter, Rex's system is the only thing left in place. If we can upgrade at middle linebacker and outside linebacker, we will most definitely be improved at stopping the run.

The Jets focus needs to be on getting rid of the players that aren't worth the cost of their replica jersey's. Eat contracts if you have to, take your hits in the press, just get a good foundation in place. If John Idzik wants to be successful in NY, he will heed some advice from Bill Parcells.  Build your team from the inside out, the jets have started the process on the defensive side of the ball. Its time to revisit the offensive side as well, the O-line has been piss poor. Sanchez is not Brady, Manning, Brees, or Rodgers, but even they couldn't have success behind that O-line.

Lets hope for the best. At the end of day, its the same old fuckin Jets....
