Jay Z has been a true entrepreneur throughout his celebrity life and he has decided to take it to another level. Mr.Carter is starting his own sports agency and calling it Roc Nation Sports. He has partnered with the Sports Division of CAA and has officially signed his first client, Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano.
Yeah that's right, he signed Cano away from Scott Boras. Sounds like a horrible joke but it's not. Obviously CAA had a large influence in this, its not like HOV is showing up to negotiate contracts. But you have to wonder how many athletes he can stack in his arsenal. He is one of the most popular figures in today's society. It won't surprise anyone if he starts becoming the "Scott Boras" of Sports Agents.
CAA will benefit exponentially. This is a great move their part and it will only lead to more athletes wanting to sign with them.
