Alex Permann was selected to win $50K provided he make a layup, free throw, 3 pointer and half court shot. Permann made the layup, hit the free throw, and in a sudden rush of excitement and nervousness he ran to half court and hit the shot. He thought he had won the prize, until he realized he had skipped the 3 pointer and thus disqualified himself.
Permann was in utter shock and lost out on $ 50 grand. He was given four tickets for life to MVC tournament. As well as VIP passes and a three day hotel stay to next years tournament.
