Stop Wasting Time And Start Living: Wasted Talent Is Unforgivable

If you want the best in life, you have to go out and get it

I have found myself devoting more time to reading and paying attention to daily occurrences  I have also found myself in deep trains of thought about how I can improve myself and those around me.  I have come to learn and understand so much over the years and yet there is still so much for me to learn. There is one prevailing theme in each and every thought that crosses my mind and each article I read: I need to be doing more.

Why I am devoting so much time to this, is it because it's the middle of winter and I'm completely miserable and bored? Could it be that this is just a byproduct of age and coming to grips with the harsh truths of society? Well, yes but those are not the only reasons. I have just finally accepted that in order for me to achieve all of the things I set out to accomplish, I need to be working harder and smarter. I need to stop bitching and moaning and go out and do it. I need to be pissed off all day long, literally. If I'm satisfied with my present set of circumstances then I will never be more than what I am.

Let me stress that I am not ungrateful. I am very blessed and fortunate to have the family, friends, and education I have attained so far. But when you finish your schooling there is a dominating mindset that you're done with learning and the classroom. But I'm never done learning, in fact I love learning new information. Because life is about who you know, but it's also about using what you know to get you ahead of the curve. I hate that so many people look at life like there owed something. I'm guilty of this mentality as well, walking around thinking things will just work themselves out. But they won't, you have to take calculated risks and work your ass off to accomplish anything.

I'm never going to be a professional athlete or some pretty boy actor. But honestly, who cares? I have the ability to be the guy who can own a professional sports franchise. I could be the CEO of a talent agency who signs the George Clooney's and Anne Hathaway's of the world. Why be the employee when you can be the employer? That is my point, if you have a view for how your life should be or how you'd like it to be, then go out and accomplish it. No excuses or petty bullshit should ever impede in your progress. But you have to be willing to sacrifice your time, your relationships, and even some of the things you enjoy doing the most. If the end game is clear, then it's without a doubt worth it.

Our society doesn't have to be so downtrodden and depressing. It can be so dramatically different if we just all make the conservative effort to do more. This literally has to do with everyone, everywhere. Governments, financial institutions and major corporations are still people; they're not just these huge entities we perceive them as. This impact of doing more can have a lasting effect on us individually and universally. It isn't some fantasy or dream world, it can be real. I pride myself on being real and looking at the world through an objective perspective. So believe me when I say, this has less to do with hope and more to do with actually accomplishing real change.

We must first start with ourselves and over time by each of us individually doing more we can shape the society we live in. I intended this article to be more about how I could change, but in writing it I realized that I need to reach out to a larger audience. So my hope is you all go out and start reaching your potential. Start getting pissed and motivated. Don't stop being motivated, once you lose motivation you essentially die. Not physically but if you're not living every day in a manner that allows you to lead a prosperous and fulfilling life, your nothing more than wasted space.

And that is the greatest sin of life, wasted talent.
