| Felix Hernandez just got 175 million reasons to stay in Seattle |
King Felix is finally getting paid like one. He signed a 7 year 175 million Dollar contract to remain with the Mariners. This is one of those moves I enjoy hearing about because the player not only deserved the money he was given but the fan base also gets to keep its superstar. Seattle as we all know, isn't a huge market, so committing 175 million is not an easy decision.
In this case, Seattle is locking up its workhorse who has been one of the best pitchers in baseball. The real test though, will be seeing if Hernandez can live up to the contract. He has logged a tremendous amount of innings throughout his career and no one since Nolan Ryan has been able to maintain that type of success over such a long period of time.
I wish King Felix and Seattle the best, there a great fan base.
